Follow along, then try it with your own setup. Think of it as a starting point, not a test. The best brew is the one you enjoy drinking.
Latte: smooth, milky and mellow
Start with a shot or double shot of espresso, then slowly add steamed milk with a thin layer of fine foam. Aim for glossy milk with tiny bubbles rather than a thick, fluffy cap.
No steam wand? Gently warm your milk and use a handheld frother. It will not be quite the café version, but it will still make a lovely cuppa.
Cappuccino: a little more froth
A cappuccino brings espresso, steamed milk and a deeper layer of foam together in a smaller drink than a typical latte. Brew your espresso, steam your milk, then pour steadily, letting the foam follow into the cup. A dusting of cocoa is entirely your call.
